I've eaten too much. I've tried a few diets. I have gained and lost the same 30 pounds a few times. I've worked 50 hours a week and been stressed out. I've juggled a full time job and being a full time student. I know how hard it is to change your habits and your life.
And it's not just about losing weight or being "skinny." Skinny isn't the answer because there are lots of skinny people who are not fit. Fitness is where it's at. And you get that by just doing the work. It's the simplest and the most difficult thing you can do to become fit. The work, once you know what to do, is fairly simple. Making it happen, making that commitment and changing your habits, that's the hardest part. But, once you see the results, there really is no going back. I am here to show you that it is possible to make that change.
Like a lot of things, I had to learn the hard way. I ended up with a herniated disc in my lower back that caused damage to my spinal nerve, affecting the left side of my body from the waist down. After having back surgery and physical therapy, I was left wearing a brace on my leg and using a cane. The doctors actually said to me that this was a "good result."
Are you kidding me? This was not a "good result" for me!
And so my journey to become fit began. I sought out personal training for myself as part of my rehabilitation process. I was able to achieve amazing results with the help of my trainer and I am now able to function on a level far exceeding the expectations of my physicians.
Through this personal experience, I was inspired to help others improve their lives through fitness. I see now that my injury probably could have been prevented and I never want anyone to have to go through what I did. I am passionate about helping others become fit, improve their lives and achieve their goals.
I am certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), a global leader in providing evidence-based certifications and advanced credentials to health and fitness professionals.
I have experience working with men and women of all ages and fitness levels. But, I am especially interested in working with women and teens with a focus on fat reduction and general fitness. It is my belief that anyone can become fit. It's about finding what works for you as an individual.
